The two things I noticed about Ryan right away were how polite he is and how zealous. When we recognized each other he shook my hand and called me Miss through our entire meeting. He stood when I stood and sat when I sat. Throughout the meeting I got the impression he was always on the edge of his seat because he was so excited about his job and various side projects.
The fun thing about Ryan is that he is very creative about finding ways to meet people. He runs several of his own websites, too, including ilovesoulard.com. Where he keeps tabs on events and discusses things like who is writing graffiti on the toilet paper dispenser. Haha! It's really a fun website with a variety of topics.
Ryan's day job is at The Laurel, where he helps people who are looking for apartments (pretty awesome apartments I've heard from two unrelated sources).
One of the things that I've noticed from these meetings, is that almost everyone is incredibly passionate and they usually are very involved in the city. For example, creating websites, sitting on boards, creating events, founding publications, helping launch new ventures and the list goes on. It's really exciting that I'm beginning to be a part of these interesting groups of St. Louisans.
Can I take you to coffee?
